I didn't get offended by what you said, I just think you've been coming across as a complete douche bag. Any dickless bitch can start a fire with a lighter and I suspect that's why you keep shouting about the merits of using one. I choose to use a ferro rod or flint & steel as my first choice to kindle a fire not because it is easy, but because it's a challenge and it's FUN. Using your energies and skills to a successful result gives you a sense of accomplishment. Going /out/ isn't about being in a "survival situation" - you've been watching too much fake reality TV. Going /out/ is about roughing it, doing things differently, getting away from the grind of everyday life, and most importantly it should be fun. What the fuck is fun about flicking a bic? Shouting to everyone, "Hurr Durr, look at me! I can start a fire with a lighter!" is just making you look like a fool and you should be embarrassed.
