>>1399458yes it would be quite good for that and more. i have my great grandfather's estwing from the 1920s and 1. it's exactly the same design as the new ones, size, shape, weight etc., and 2. it's the bees tits. all the leather rings have dried up and are falling off the handle so it just needs to be re-handled at some point which I may get around to someday
