I think the snakeheads spawn late spring/early summer and I read online they also spawn in the fall. And the Mayans will be nesting in the summer sometime so I think. I will probably see their little cichlid holes in a month and sometimes I can piss them off with an inline.
The peacocks were really early spring as well I believe but from what I hear they are a bit more active than largemouth in warmer water.
So either way if I want to catch something, I normally can. Sometimes I have luck with snakeheads on really hot days when largemouth are nowhere to be found and the Mayans are around all the time.
Forgot about the gar, they like to hang around shallow waters when it warms up too but it is frustrating trying to get em on lures. The presentation has to be spot-on like the bait is dying as the gar sees it.
