Most of the maps of the US you see on wiki were made by undergrads from universities in Oregon state using huge mapping area errors, and some classifications in the west fall between types, the most famous examples being from the monsoon Mediterranean (yellow)/continental (darker blues and purple) climates in Arizona, leaving geographically distant towns like Flagstaff, Williams, Happy Jack, McNary, Heber-Overgaard, Jacob Lake, Forest Lakes, etc all of AZ to be correctly classed as two or more Koppen types. And the colors have almost zero bearing to actual biome types or topography. As pic related (50-100 ft tall forest canopy, averages 25-30 inches of annual precipitation, 20-90 inches of annual snowfall, entirely below 6k ft ASL, officially Csa) would appear yellow and seem like a desert on a map to most retards, when Csa climates in a place like Arizona average 15-35 inches of annual precipitation and are more akin to the forested areas of the Mediterranean in Europe but with many times more winter snowfall due to higher elevation. Most climate system were designed primarily for Europe and occasionally do not fully accurately fit the observed climates in the new world (especially the western US and montane central and south America) and other parts of the world.
