I’m 55 so maybe I’m out of the loop but I only had a MySpace page for a couple of months back when it first came out but I never used it as I didn’t see the point (it was then locked on me because I never used it) and I have never had a Facebook or Twitter account, though I did use Reddit (with a fake name) for a couple of years until I recently got shadow banned for some reason .
That said, I’ve been posting to Usenet for going on 25 years now so actually, I was the first of my circle of friends to do “social media” even if it wasn't called that back then.
>>2456484>lost a job interview over the summer due to me not having any social media accountsThis unfortunately is becoming the standard nowadays. I've read that more and more companies offering white-collar positions won't even give you an interview if you don't provide links to your social media and to not have any social media accounts, paints you as a liar. Many companies are now even demanding access to employee's personal social media, so they can keep tabs on them. A buddy of mine in IT security has a fake Facebook page for just this reason.
