>>1379044Pretty simple, it's more about collecting and processing wood than the fire itself. You want dry hardwoods- Ash, oak, maple, hickory, black walnut, apple, cherry, yellow or paper birch, beech- about 4-6" diameter. Saw to 12-16" and split as needed for kindling and fuel sized pieces. A good bow saw and axe or at least hatchet are musts.
If you have birch bark as tinder then making fire is very very easy.
