>>2415306it's definitely not a cheap option, but Tailfin makes some really nice clamps that will attach to your fork and essentially provide water bottle bosses there. You can then attach whatever bottle cage you want, I put tall Nalgenes on my fork if I'm not going to be near running water. with the tailfin things, if you order four of them, you can put a set on each side of your fork, and each of those can hold a bottle/cargo cage both fore and aft. you can carry a lot of shit down low on the fork that way.
Also if you are ever near water sources, just carry less water and add a filter to your setup. refill when needed.
