Fly fishing was almost impossible. You could wave a bright coloured fly right in front of the fish but they did not care about it at all. If you tried a spinner they would take it instantly. The chars are migrating upstream from the sea to spawn. Perhaps that is why they did not care for the flies. The grown up chars are only in the stream during a few summer months.
