I collect simple shapes, eg spheres, pebbles, cylinders etc made of different properties
Picture the sample spheres used to demonstrate different material properties and textures, I have a shelf wall full of them
I have plenty of metal spheres and nos canisters I’ve found in different states of oxidisation. Any interesting rounded pebble of different qualities I pick up - favourites are a glittering Thassos marble one, a red shiny perfectly spherical conker casing with spikes (looks like a medieval morning star), a ball i whittled from an ash tree while waiting out a storm near the Forest of Dean and an incredibly thin glass bauble I found on a dumped Christmas tree
Shits cash and really helps my rendering and understanding of surface properties when I’m painting.
