>>910389>Any reason that you recommend kolob reservoir other than the price? The road leading to Kolob Reservoir is the road you take to get to a lot of the back country routes that end inside of Zion. So it'll just be a quick way to start the backcountry trails (West Rim/Narrows). On one hand I've lived here long enough that it seems odd to me to camp in an area I have to pay for, on the other hand I do have some good memories of camping near or in the park with my parents as a kid.
>I'm used to hiking in cold weather and rain, any advice for someone as pale as a ghost besides sunscreen?I have a bad habit of burning on long desert hikes such as Havasupai, so I'm not helpful in this regard. However, most of the trails inside Zion are covered by the high cliffs. Most trails have plenty of tree coverage as well. You probably won't be having too much of an issue with sun unless you hit up West Rim or decide to free climb one of the cliffs.
Remember to visit K Falls. It's definitely worth the side detour.
