>Batch 4: 37 duck eggs
I just got the new batch up to temperature. I really wish ducks wouldn't make the bottom of their nests bare ground and muddy. I kept putting bedding in and they kept wallowing it out so I gave up. They are not trained here and were allowed to do whatever around a huge pond at their previous owner's property. I'm hoping to curb that behavior completely with the flock I'm currently building up. Then maybe I won't have muddy duck eggs being hidden all over an acre of land every morning.
I revamped the old incubator with a much larger viewing window. Now, I can look in and actually see the back of the incubator. I keep a flap of craft foam over it that I can lift up when viewing. That should help prevent condensation from building up as much.
