Get on a waiting list for a pup from a good working line, ask to see the parents, ask to see their health test certificates, insist on seeing that in fact and be ready to walk away if there's much in the way of hesitation. Hip scores, elbow scores, and eye tests at the very least. Know the price for a pup too. If it sounds too good to be true, it is and you're an asshole if you're trying to shop for a bargain because you're perpetuating shitty breeding practices.
