If you’re bringing a stove or plan on warming your food over a fire or something, there are other options like instant refried beans, instant rice, shelf stable sausage, Knorr sides, Bear Creek soups, instant potatoes, and so on.
One of the issues you’ll find is looking up info online results in two categories: buy out freeze-dried product, or become a souse chef and spend a few days dehydrating your own food. Seriously, the DIY backpacking meals are almost never simplified.
