Im pondering a Kifaru Timberline 1 or 2 for my next hiking / hunting season, as my CamelBak BFM1000 (the older version in 1000 denier) cannot hold all or my gear. I'm waiting for shot2014 since they told me they would offer the pack in kryptek mandrake from that point on, which would be perfect for my area (Eastern Canada)
Wondering if anybody here has experience with Kifaru, as it would be quite the investment (around 800$) to get the pack. Financially it wouldnt kill me, but its still a sizeable investment.
I usually hike like 5-10 miles, setup camp and stay there for a couple of days, then come back home. Im not a thru hiker, there are no places to restock my shit so I have to pack everything in and haul it to where I want to camp.
I have a 2 weeks trip organised with an old buddy of mine next late summer / early autumn and I kinda want to get some miles with a new pack, as my CamelBak is more of a 3 day assault design than hiking pack
It still holds super strong though, 5 or so years of day hikes and college / university use, if anyone was wondering how durable those are. The older design in 1000denier is bombproof
