Going for a 2 day tramp in Arthurs' Pass, New Zealand. Doing the Avalanche Peak to Crow Hut route.
Never done a hike longer than 5 hours in my life but it should be piece of piss. I don't even think I'll need anything other than warm clothes, water, food, sleeping bag and vodka. I'll just use my phone for GPS. Said it should take around 7-9 hours to reach the hut but I'll probably smash it in 6 hours. It said something about not going in Spring because of avalanche warnings and high rivers but snow is pretty soft so I reckon I'll be alright. Said something about being an "expert route" as if that means anything. DoC are probably piss babies who are scared people might get hurt.
Going on Thursday but I'll keep you fellas updated on how it goes.
