Smith and Wesson is probably my favorite.. i have a knife from S and W for about 3 years, hold an edge great, easy to sharpen, it has serrations at the base, the handle looks cheap, but its very sturdy. that knife has NEVER failed me for the 3 years iv had it. built like a tank. although the pocket clip fell off after about a year and a half. so i'd go with either a gerber or smith and wesson.
