I was thinking something like bush peas on the sunny slope of my tomato beds (the shaded slope is covered with popcorn now). Evidently, I need to plant them 70-100 days before the first frost. Seems there's roughly 117 days left till first frost here, so there's plenty of time to pick out a cultivar, prep the ground, and order.
I think I'll probably go with Sugar Sprint since they are 3' max, planting 1 inch apart, heat tolerant, resistant to powdery mildew, and are 55 days to maturity. I can probably get at most 8 rows 32-35' long. So like 3,216 seeds/plants needed.
