>>1074606Take this with a grain of salt as I don't have any sources on this, but depending on the depth of the mine and the angle of the walls, sounds can remain trapped deep inside the mine for years. There's quite a few stories of prospectors fairly deep inside a mine hearing Indian war cries or something coming from the depths, but nothing is there when they go to check it out. This is because a raid happened years prior and certain sounds from outside happened to make their way into the mine and got trapped in there and just kinda bounced around all over the place until the sound was able to project itself back out. Imagine one of those block breaker games where your ball gets caught on top of the mass of blocks.
>>1074634There's quite a lot of female idolism in various forms of paganism. That's where we get the concept of mother earth or "Gaia". I really doubt this is the case, but it's possible that some weird sect of pagans decided they needed young women for a ritual or something to revitalize mother nature. It's weird that they said "I can't smell any girls" though. Probably just some really tripped out hippies in all likeliness.
