Tacticool shit gets you weird looks and is usually sourced to the lowest bidder if its actually military issue.
REI/MEC is about being functional. MOLLE points might be useful, but having the entire thing be made out of 1000D canvas and covered in MOLLE straps tends to be less useful and more a hinderance. Also, since we're not trying to hide from the commies, having it all in ACU or even olive drab just makes it hard to track down later on when we need to move out.
Side note:I *REALLY* dislike MEC's new logo. Looks like a mix between TD bank and GMC trucks.
