>>1443253I don't know about flyfishing but I fish inlets, bridges and flapper dams all the time on the cape with spinning gear. The usual 3/4-4 oz surf setups are gonna be way overkill, what you want is about a 3/8-1 range, max 1.5. My first setup was a Penn battalion combo in 4000 which served me well for the longest time but I recently got a Lamiglas 1083 rated 3/8-1.5 which I'm excited to use for bayside beaches.
