Hi OP,

I participated in one of the Kungsleden thread a few months back and posted some pics from a trip I did myself a few years back and I also answered some questions regarding logistics etc. There was one anon who in one of those threads who compared himself to mee because we had the same backpack and water bottle (green osprey and blue nalgene). I noticed a green Osprey in one of your pics, som I would like to ask if it could have been you.

Anyways, I hope you had a nice trip to Lappland. It sounded as if it was nice in spite of the difficulties with weather etc. That is just how it is I guess.

Here is a pic of me on the top of Kebnekaise. We had great clear skies when we ascended in August, 2006.

You can ascend the Kebnekaise without any special equipment. There are other routes if you want to try walking over a glacier. The mountain station at the bottom arrange tours.

You should check the weather forecast before going up. Up and down will take 5-10 hours depending on shape. You can also go by helicopter. During the summer a lot of people go to the top every day when the weather is good. Perhaps 100 people or so.
