Anyone have an idea what's up with that willow (should be a Salix alba 'tristis')?
It gets pruned every winter and normally only fully grows back by late August. Grew normally up to late June, then stopped (hasn't visibly formed new twigs and the existing ones didn't get any longer) and the leaves are gradually becoming yellow (normally only look like that by late November)
It was somewhat dry the last couple months here (a total 137mm of rain from Feb to Jul with a mean temp of 12.4°C in that period, long-term average for that period is 276mm, all according to the nearest weather station about 10km away, but the microclimate might even be slightly drier locally here), but can that really affect a 30 year old tree? Or are the roots rather flat for that tree?
