Will apricots pollinate japanese plums if they bloom on the same day and they are both diploid? What about peaches instead of apricots? I have one of each and they are all self-fertile but the Plum is new and the tag said they "set heavier with a pollinator". If I hand pollinate would mixing the two make a higher percent of my Plum fruits unviable and drop?
