They tried buiding a rugged no nonsense watch and succeeded on internals yet failed miserably on durability. It's almost a decade since this was first introduced and they keep spewing out retarded stealth backlight models for double the price and premium versions that weight twice as much. The whole core lineup is example of pure Finnish autism and makes no sense.
Casio makes a shitload of style gshocks, but they have dozens of square iterations and a fucking parts catalog for each of them.
And so you are stuck with choosing between rugged g-shocks that you cant be seen in public with and unrepairable fragile crap that somehow got the functionality and design right, but is now all into facebook watches instead. Why smartwatches have to ruin everything good?
