it's ok, our history isn't just in the buildings and the appearance of the town. I've seen a lot of that change over time, and realistically all of that will be gone pretty soon just from being too old to maintain. It's ok. In reality Leadville is almost nothing like it used to be back in 1880 or whatever. 90% of the buildings that stood then are gone. You can walk in any direction for miles and find literally thousands of empty foundations where houses once stood. Most of the town is already gone.
Our history can't be destroyed because it's not strictly speaking just a bunch of buildings.
