I have 2 of them right now, the sound reminds me of fishing / camping with my grandad, and miserable scout trips that rained all weekend.

if it's in a case it's probably fine bouncing around a bit but the globe is rather thin glass. you will probably go through a lot of mantels, just bouncing in my car on the dirt roads usually does mine in.
