I want to buy a car.
I live in germany and have ~ 2500 - 3000€ budget.
I might buy an old BMW 316 compact since i can get it cheap and it's a pretty sick car and I plan on fixing everything that's coming up myself with the help of a relative who used to do the same.
I feel like germany and even europe is so fucking densly populated that I won't need anything more "outdoorsy".
am I wrong ?
all this car needs to do is, beeing fun to ride, be low tec so i can fix it and haul max 2 people and 2 bikes from time to time.
the BMW dose that easily when I slap a rear rack or roof rack on.
If I take it on longer trips I can either think about building a flat platform to use the whole interior space to sleep or just sleep outside in my tent, right ?
I won't do any trips longer than two weeks and I've done trips like this my bike with a few bikepacking bags.
anybody care to voice their opinion about this ?
I feel like I've thought this through but I'd like to hear some more opinions
