Same guy who posted the basil pic earlier... I have been looking at my other trays of basil and am having a hard time discerning what the problem is. I have been looking up downy mildew and see some of the signs, but when I look at images of many common basil diseases, they all seem so hard to distinguish. I haven't seen any of the spore-like structures typical of downy mildew (which I learned is not actually a fungus).
I guess my question is, when basil gets diseased, what is the likelihood it can be salvaged? I've got all winter to dick around with growing more basil - are most diseases incurable or not worth the effort to try and cure? Should I just dispose of the basil plants and soil and start again? I can disinfect the trays and dispose of the soil and just start again, being more mindful of air circulation.
Any input is appreciated, i'm flying totally blind here.
