They do it around here in FL because every little pond would become a green swamp if the carp didn’t clean it up. One of the lakes nearby even has signs with pics of grass carp telling people it’s illegal to target them or kee them.
But OP’s pic looks like a common carp. Grass carp are more sliver, not the gold and orange. And grass carp have the goofy Jesse Jackson eyes.
