I have also snuck up on hunters as they descend from their most unnatural hide above the ground, it can be entertaining.

I get in early, like 2 hours before others. Then I can stay put and watch for other hunters and laser them out of my area if needed. This one asshole started out across a field, marching right toward a bedding area I was watching over, just as the light broke. I lasered the spot on the ground in front of him and he did a quick 180°spin and exited the same way he entered. I had a spike walk within 20 feet of me that morning and look right at me while I was judging him through my scope.
My favorite close encounter was last year. I was sitting at dusk and had a 4 pointer within arms reach before he realized I was there pointing my 686 at him. One of my local WMAs has QDM so most of what I see I have to let walk but it also has been rated the best WMA to hunt so it can get crowded.
This season is going to be great.
