I am guessing that it is a tomb of some sort, as the parchments in France were deciphered to say "......this treasure belongs to Dagobert II, and he is there dead."
But as the movement through the journey they made was recorded and the people that were part of the order found, you discover that there were ciphers in Shakespeare that also talked of this location, but there was a Religious Artifact somewhere in the whole of the mystery
