What you do is you DON'T take a cutting from the bush, but rather "scrape" the outer bark off about 1/3 down from one of the branches. Then bend it down to your container or the ground and put a heavy rock on it to weigh it down and keep it protected. After a few weeks it will start to grow roots from that point in which you can then cut it off the main bush and replant upright and proper.
Allegedly will work with ANY berry bush, but don't quote me. Blackberries are hearty and heafty bushes, they don't like to die so that may play a part in my success with it.
