Red on the landscape was an aster I couldn't ID. Anemone occidentalis (White pasqueflower) was in full seed right at the water table on western slopes. Caught Leutkea pectinata a few weeks too early, wasn't to seed yet. Castilleja angustifolia (Indian paintbrush), my absolute favorite, was parasitizing Xerophyllum tenax (Bear grass), but populations weren't strong enough for me to feel comfortable taking seed. I took 3 types of berry: Sorbus sitchensis (Sitka Mountain Ash), Symphoricarpos occidentalis (Western Snowberry), and Sambucus nigra (Common Elderberry). The purple here is a flashy patch of Chamerion angustifolium (Fireweed).
