Recently have been spending lots of time outdoors hiking and camping in some pretty deep (for me) areas and am trying to keep to minimalist ways and am starting to realize the cheap Gerber I bought isn't doing me much good. It doesn't seem to hold an edge well and I am wondering what /out/ would recommend as an intermediate all around knife? My friends really expensive knives seem to hold themselves for longer and feel great in the hand but I don't think I need to spend $300 on a hobby (so to say) knife.
What would you guys recommend and any places I could look for used knives? I'm sure there are tons of people who buy these pretty knives never use them and sell them.
