I'm new to fishing and had some 'lessons' at my club but fucking hell I need more, everything went wrong, I was there for 3 hours and spent pretty much all of that time untangling things or trying to and failing to plumb the depth. I just went home because I got so angry.
I don't understand why I couldn't plumb the depth. The float would not surface no matter how much I moved it up the line, and I was using the right amount of shot for the float. Fuck knows what was going on.
Felt bad about tipping half a pint of maggots in the water at the end but I can't keep them for a week they'll turn into flies and I'm not keeping them in the fridge.
