The older male goats are awful and not good for anything except trophy horns, which I'm not really into. I've often detected their presence with my nose before any other senses. That oily, unwashed hair and piss sort of smell definitely gets into their meat.
Any kid goats are really nice, comparable to lamb bacause their meat is tender. The colour is much lighter than older goats, but of course they're smaller so you wont harvest as much meat.
Nanny goats are typically good eating because they dont stink like the males. If they're in breeding season they'll usually have a lot of extra fat on them.
I highly recommend goat hunting, they're typically dumb as rocks and hang out in big groups. Depending on the part of the world you're in they're an endemic pest, so the more you kill the more you're doing for the environment.
