Other sheep have thicker micron strands, which in turn is more durable. The Stanfields is both durable, but feels like a looser weave. I have wool sweaters twice the weight as this with worse performance (swiss surplus sweater). And because it is more loose, it dries fairly quickly. I was on an all day fishing trip, where it rained 90% of the day and while my cotton undershirt was soaked by the end, my wool sweater midlayer was dry.
