I wild camped on a peak near Coniston Old Man a couple of weeks ago in a £10 single sheet tent. The kind of thing you'd take to a festival. It was windy, cold and uncomfortable but damn if waking up to this view wasn't worth every moment. Spent the morning clambering over a few of the peaks towards the Old Man then headed down it into Coniston, passing hundreds of people just starting to head up.
Need to plan another trip like that for this weekend. Anyone got any suggestions for nice walks and places to camp in the Lake District? South East, close to the M6 preferably.
