In Alaska for guided hunts most guides count six miles a day with pack the norm. Tough guy or not. Clients normally top their packs at thirty pounds plus long gun. Guides or porters sixty. Only problem with weight is it magnifies damage in the event of a fall. Up there a dust off to pick up a wounded hunter might be $100k.
In my count if I keep my pack/gear in the forty or fifty pound range, 10 a day is nothing. Especially flat or at gentle incline. If it is on a general decline, I will be much slower. I do walk four or five daily anyway.
The outdoors is for everyone. Go with what you got. Do what you can. Fuck everybody else.
