I was originally thinking ESEE, but as somewhat of a knife guy, paying that much for such a low grade steel doesn't sit quite right with me. I could pay a bit more to get a made in Japan VG-10 blade that has better ergonomics and is WAY lighter than an ESEE. It's not a sharpened slab so it would be better for slicing, but probably not suitable for batoning and extreme stuff like that.
Also I could just carry around the spyderco and use it casually without looking like a freak, which I probably could no do with something like an ESEE 3
