>>2496990>How did you get into patch making?Randomly one day Badgerhounds aesthetic tank guy design was the image on the 'Popular Threads' thing on the 4chan landing page. I kept monitoring the /k/ thread whilst it was being worked on and found it interesting enough to keep hanging out after it was released. I had a go at designing my own one for a group of friends which was a painless enough experience I figured I would have a go at making one to sell. Picked up an image in one of the threads that a few people expressed an interest in seeing become an idea and then have just kept going and slowly expanding.
>Is it profitable?I make a profit on it but it's not enough to do as a full time gig. I don't know how the bigger sellers like Aho and Badger find things but I just treat it like a hobby. I'm basically making enough profit to be able to afford the next drop in a reasonable amount of time.
>What kind of machines do you use?Nearly all the sellers you see on 4chan use third party companies, primarily in China, to manufacture them. So you create the design send it to them along with requests for production (number of, embroidered/woven, type of backing etc), they tell you if any changes need to be made. Then, once all confirmed, in a week or two you get a parcel full of patches.
There are a couple of exceptions. 19kenny84, who makes very small batches by hand and Twilry who has a website connected to a machine but that's been gone a while now. You can find sellers on Etsy who will do one offs for you, they seem to be generally in Eastern Europe. These will tend to cost more than a generic patch because it's a one off but it's an option.
>Also, does anyone have an archive to all the patch sites?A list with me on it.
