We have to keep the total length over 26 inches in order to fit it through the legal loophole, but the barrel can be as short as 14 inches. Kind of sucks compared to a real SBS, but I think a lot of people forget that Americans have found legal loopholes for just about every "banned" weapon (slidefire stocks, Sig arm braces, muzzle brakes that are really suppressor innards, etc.).
