>>2814155If you want to get into winemaking I strongly recommend Tadar jars, I have 12 and 15 liter ones and they are great compared to old style balloon glassware, super compact, large opening and easy to move around only flaw is they lose water faster from the airlock, not a big deal tho.
Start with nfc apple juice (or really any other cheap nfc juice), it's cheap so you won't regret fucking it up, I succeed on my first attempt, it's not that hard.
>how much better is homemade wine compared to storebought (besides the satisfaction of your own labour)? When it comes to grapevine honestly not really compared to more expensive stuff, it has none of the usual sulfury understate that comes from chemicals they use for sterilization but other than that it's just decent, might be just my grapes not being well suited for wine making tho.
However apples and gooseberries are an entirely different story, this stuff can be heavenly in taste if you know what you are doing, people I shared wines with often ask me about gooseberry + red currant and cider I made, it was the best stuff I have ever tasted.
