It stays lit for longer without being smoked, burns really consistently, there is less taste than with a cob but the smoke is always cool and dry because of the inner reservoir. It pulls better too, each tiny puff brings a lot of smoke. I can't believe they were able to engineer it so effectively all the way back in 1890, it almost smokes itself. It was not expensive, this one is around 50 years old.
