I recently bought a cast net, but I've only had luck finding shad 2 out of the last probably 10 times I've been out for them. Where and when do I need to look for them? I was checking around docks and in shallow coves and caught the most at a culvert that dumped a small creek into a lake. Is it too early or late in the year, am I just unlucky or what?
