>>2172171I go camping where there are crocodiles. Favourite camping spot with my brother and my dad is a river mouth into the sea where there is a 16-ft croc that lives on the opposite bank to where we camp, a 10-footer that lives about 150m upstream of the campsite, and there's a 23-footer that must be 70-80 years old that has been sighted along a 5km stretch north and south of the river mouth. If you go further up the river you'll see a few others too. About 10km to the north is a small island a few hundred metres offshore that is renowned for fuckloads of green sea turtles laying eggs, so that means that it's also heavily populated by crocs too... I've seen upwards of a dozen all within about 300m of beach at low tide.
There's plenty of snakes there too but I live in a part of Australia where there's plenty of snakes anyway - most of ours will get the fuck out of the way if you're walking towards them, with a couple of exceptions that are cunts and will hold their ground and bite if you get close enough and they're pretty lethal if you can't get to a hospital. Where I ruck or hike to test new gear I probably step within three feet of a snake a half a dozen times a year or so but typically most of the time they're non-venomous varieties and they're slithering away happily.
