I wouldn't mind some company sometimes but people always fuck you about. They never turn up on time or don't turn up at all or want you to wait around for them as they overslept, they often are only allowed to be out for a few hours as they need to get home to their wife, family or mum coz they still live at home and mummy has dinner on the table for them at 5:30! On the trails they never bring any spare tubes or basic tools...not even a pump. It's just easier to go on your own.
I like to get up in the morning have a look at a map over a few coffees and sling the bike in the van and go.
I'd defiantly go on your own see how you like it. As you can see by the replys most outsmans go on their own too, your friends are just normal people that don't like mud, wind, rain and are scared of a bit of adventure. Don't let that put you off.
If you like it I'd recommend getting a dog they are the best out pals you could have. I've only got to pick up my biking bag, fishing rod or jacket and my dog is at the door ready to go.
