So, let me see if I understand. To get maximum utility out of a telescope I'll need 3 eye pieces; one which is about 50x magnification, one which is about 120x magnification, and one which is about 240x magnification. In addition, getting a Barlow would increase all those by double.
So question, the Barlow presumably works on even the 240x piece, but you said that light gets dimmer the higher the magnification, so would that mean that the Barlow would make it even dimmer? Also, earlier in the thread something was said if a red light, is this to counter the increased dimness?
