One last Montana shot, and I'll call it a night in the near future and do Wyoming and Colorado tomorrow.
The worst mosquito experience was had near where this shot was taken. Near Wisdom, Montana, there were many, many mosquitoes. I couldn't slow down without them landing on me, the weather was too warm for long clothing and I didn't (and still don't) carry bug spray.
I ended up needing to push myself for around 16 miles past fields which had been flooded for irrigation purposes. If I slowed down, the mosquitoes would land on me.
I camped that night at the pass between that valley and the one where this picture was taken, as high and far away from water as I could get. It was the second worst mosquito experience of my life. At least this time, I could breath through my mouth without inhaling them.
