I’ve been hunting from the ground for a couple weeks now (and last season) with no sightings this year other than one bump while waking in, and only one sighting last year but no shot since I was caught off guard. I hunt from the ground and with a longbow because I’m a larper/ cheap I guess. Any tips on moving into saddle hunting? Does the visibility really improve sighting odds and shot availability? How much should I be looking to spend and what do I need? Is it even feasible with a longbow? The amo length is 68”. I climbed up deadwood wedged between a couple trees last year and was able to move about okay even with my long stick. I’ve also thought about buying a rock climbing harness just to get up to larger branches to sit in on bigger oaks and whatnot with less effort.
